How to play Piano Tiles
Choose a song and tap the first black key to start. The keys fall in 4 lanes, and each one you hit plays the next note of the melody. Each key is worth 1 point.
You lose if you tap a white area, the wrong lane, or if a black key goes past the bottom of the screen untapped. The key you got wrong flashes red so you can see what happened.
The more keys you hit, the faster they fall. On the phone, use two fingers to switch lanes quickly; on the computer, use the D, F, J and K keys (or 1, 2, 3 and 4) for the four lanes.
Frequently asked questions
Which songs can I play?
Ode to Joy (Beethoven), Für Elise (Beethoven), Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and Frère Jacques. These are old melodies in the public domain, and they repeat for as long as you keep hitting the keys.
Does Piano Tiles work on a computer?
Yes. You can click with the mouse or, even better, use the keyboard: D, F, J and K match the four lanes, from left to right.
Do I need to turn the sound on?
It isn’t required, but the fun is hearing the music as you play. The sound starts after your first tap and can be turned off with the speaker button.
