Telling time games

Learn to read an analogue clock: first the full hours, then half hours, and finally the minutes in steps of 5.

How to play the telling time game

Look at the clock. The short hand shows the hour and the long blue hand shows the minutes. When the long hand points at the 12, it is exactly on the hour.

Pick a level. Easy is only full hours, medium adds half hours (like 3:30) and hard uses times in 5-minute steps. Then tap the right time out of the 4 choices.

Each round has 10 times. Every right answer earns a star, and at the end you see how many you got right. Got one wrong? No problem: the right time is shown and the next question comes straight after.

Frequently asked questions

What age is this telling time game for?

The easy level, with full hours, usually suits children from about 5 or 6 years old, when they start learning the clock. Medium and hard are for children who already know full hours and are learning the minutes.

Is it safe for children?

Yes. There are no ads, no links to other websites, no purchases, no sign-up and no data collection. Your child just taps the times on the screen.

Can I turn the sound off?

Yes. A sound button in the game switches the sound effects on and off. Your choice is saved in the browser, so you will not need to turn it off again next time.
