How to play volleyball

Pick 1 or 2 players, the difficulty, 15 or 21 points per set, and whether the match is best of 3 sets or one set. Tap Start. Whoever wins a point serves next: press Attack (or Space) to toss the ball up, then jump to hit it before it lands on your side.

Move under the ball and jump to hit it. Where the ball meets your hand sets the direction: hit the bottom to lift it, the front to send it straight, and above your head to spike. Pressing Attack just before contact turns the hit into a stronger spike that goes down.

You score when the ball lands on the other court, goes out at the side, or the other team touches it four times. Each side can touch the ball up to three times before passing it over. The record keeps your longest rally, counted in touches.

Frequently asked questions

How do I spike?

Jump and press Attack (or Space) a moment before the ball reaches your hand, then hit it at the top. If the ball is above your head and in front of you, the spike drops hard on the opposite court.

What is the rally record?

It is the highest number of touches in a single rally. It is saved in this browser and updated at the end of each point.

How does difficulty work?

On easy the computer aims poorly and jumps slowly. On hard it reacts almost every time, jumps and spikes often, and rarely misses.
