How to play Color Lines

Click or tap a ball to pick it up, then tap an empty square to send it there. A ball can only travel through free squares, moving up, down or sideways, so it can’t jump over other balls.

Line up 5 or more balls of the same color horizontally, vertically or diagonally and they disappear, giving you points. The longer the line, the bigger the bonus.

Every move that doesn’t clear a line brings 3 new balls onto the board. The “Next” box shows their colors and the small dots show where they’ll land. The game ends when all 81 squares are full.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same game as Lines 98?

Yes, the rules are the same as the classic Color Lines that many people played as Lines 98 on Windows: a 9x9 board, 7 colors, 3 new balls each turn and lines of 5 to clear.

Why didn’t my ball move?

There has to be a free path to the target square using only up, down, left and right moves. If other balls block every route, you’ll get a message and the ball stays put.

Can I take back a move?

Yes, “Undo” takes back your last move, including the new balls it brought in. You can undo one move at a time.
