Spider Solitaire
Spider Solitaire with two decks and ten columns: choose 1, 2 or 4 suits, build runs from King down to Ace and clear the table.
How to play Spider Solitaire
Spider uses two decks (104 cards) dealt into 10 columns, with only the top card of each column face up; the other 50 cards wait in the stock. The goal is to build 8 complete runs from King down to Ace in the same suit. Each finished run leaves the table on its own and goes to the piles at the top.
You can place any card on a card one rank higher, no matter the suit: a 7 goes on any 8. But you can only move several cards together when they form a descending run in the same suit. Any card (or run) can go into an empty column, and a face-down card that gets uncovered flips over automatically.
When you run out of moves, tap the stock to deal one new card onto each of the 10 columns. You can only do this when no column is empty. Drag cards or tap them to move them, and use “Undo” to take back your last move.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between 1, 2 and 4 suits?
With 1 suit every card is a spade, so any run can be moved together and most games are winnable: it’s the perfect way to start. With 2 suits (spades and hearts) you need to plan ahead, and with 4 suits Spider Solitaire gets really tough, because mixed suits lock up your runs.
Why can’t I deal from the stock?
Under Spider rules, you can only deal when all 10 columns have at least one card. Put a card in every empty column and tap the stock again.
Is this the same Spider Solitaire from Windows?
Yes, these are the classic Spider Solitaire rules from Windows: 2 decks, 10 columns and 5 deals of 10 cards. Here it runs free in your browser, with nothing to install, on your phone too.
