Liar’s Dice Online (Perudo)

Each player hides their 5 dice in a cup and bids how many dice of a given face are on the table. Bluff, doubt and call “Liar!” at the right moment.

You play against 2 to 5 computer opponents. Each one starts with 5 dice.

How to play Liar’s dice

Everyone rolls their dice in secret and sees only their own. The first player bids a quantity and a face, for example “four 5s”: that means that, counting everyone’s dice, there are at least four dice showing 5. The 1 is a wild card and counts as any face.

On your turn you must raise the bid (more dice, or the same quantity with a higher face) or call “Liar!”. To bid on 1s, you only need half the quantity (rounded up); to move off 1s, you need double plus one. Nobody can open the round with a bid on 1s.

On “Liar!” everyone reveals their dice. If there are at least the bid quantity, the challenger loses a die; if not, the bidder loses one. Players who run out of dice are out and the last player with dice wins. In a Palifico round (when someone is down to 1 die for the first time), the 1s are not wild and the bid face cannot change.

Frequently asked questions

Are Liar’s dice and Perudo the same game?

Yes. Perudo (also called Dudo) is the South American version of Liar’s dice, with 1s as wild cards and the Palifico round. It is also known as Liar’s Dice.

How do I know if a bid is likely?

Count the dice you cannot see and divide by 3: since 1s are wild, each die has a 1 in 3 chance of matching. Add the matching dice you can see. If the bid is well above that number, it is worth calling “Liar!”.

Can the computer see my dice?

No. Each opponent only knows its own dice and how many dice are on the table, and decides based on probability, with a little bluffing on the easy level.
